I learned a lot about Marketing in this Chapter! Technology and it's progression over the years has played a major factor, with Cell Phones, Laptops, and Video Cameras making it easier for people to communicate with regard to all the new ways to find out about products!
What I found most interesting is that the Marketers of these huge companies like SONY, for instance, have what's called Brand Ambassadors, who are usually chosen at College Campuses to work in positions like this, and they seem like a lot of fun, these jobs, because they get to use and give out samples of their new products, and one Ambassador even detailed a trip to Australia, I believe! So the job has excellent perks.
Other companies that use a similar approach within the Marketing Campaigns that were listed were Microsoft, McDonalds, Jet Blue and Macy's.
It was noted in the Wall Street Journal that Job Recruiters would use this very same technique to find employees on Social Media Sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, specifically. This apparently has become the new trend for Job Recruiters, and therefore Facebook and LinkedIn are in a stiff competition! It's amazing to me because it worked, 1500 job positions were filled according to this article, from Software Developers to Truck Drivers.
What interested me the most in this article was the recent development of a Facebook Application known as Branch Out Inc. which is similar to BeKnown app, it builds a professional networking layer on top of Facebook, and has 2.6 Million monthly users!
I love this class and all that I'm learning here, however I still feel that I haven't been able to apply anything I've learned here to my own Marketing and Promotion of my Intellectual Properties, but part of the reason for that is I use Facebook exclusively for those specific reasons that exist, it is now one of the biggest platforms for Music Promotion.
I didn't think I was going to make it this far this semester, but I'm really enjoying my Professors' Lectures in my classes, and I need to learn as much as I can in my Educational Path pointing towards Digital Audio II and executing everything in the Pro Tools Program that I can, in order to apply it explicitly to my career, as insurance for myself in case I don't finish out my degree, I'm considering changing Majors to Digital Video/Film Production so I am at a very important precipice, and I feel it is crucial that I don't rush and make all the right decisions for myself.

EOC Week 3: Marketing Beer to Latinos
Again, this topic is something I won't be good at, because my Dad drank himself to death, and some of my only friends in Las Vegas are Carlos Santana and his magnificent band, they don't drink, and I am offended at the way companies market alcohol to minority groups, this is something i can't even think about because these companies are marketing death to people I love and consider a lot of them my family, like Santana, so respectfully, I have no idea how to market alcohol to minorities and I'm not ever going to try, I'm sorry.
EOC Week 3: Making Money For Good
Making Money For Good
Again, I don't know where to start with this. Being a Quadriplegic, permanently wheelchair bound means you don't get the same job opportunities as the rest of the world! I've been going to the Art Institute for a year and a half now, and I went crazy looking for a job with the Career Counselor Nick Willden the whole time, and when he finally did get me an interview with a Goodwill Store, well, I had to move closer to the school into a Section 8 apartment, Low Income Housing, and if I get a job now, they are going to raise my rent to a ridiculous amount that I can't afford! So as you can see, the discrimination that I face in Las Vegas is something that will knock me out of the workplace for the entire time I'm in Ai, should I decide to stay and finish my Degree! And if I do Graduate, I'm lucky I own my Recording Studio and several Intellectual Properties that I produced and directed, and I own the Master Copies of all my material, so when I hit it big, that's what i am looking at for making money, but I'm kind of aggravated that the rest of the class has to see this, because due to discrimination against the disabled, I don't get the same opportunities as the ambulatory students in this school, and that makes me sick to my stomach, and makes me wonder what I am doing here and what if anything can I do about it!~

EOC Week 2: Video Game Market
I wouldn't even know how to do a video game analysis…..I stopped playing them 30 years ago, I was a Champion of Pac Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Galaxian, when you had to put quarters in the machine to play! I don't play XBox, Playstation or Nintendo, I actually can't anymore due to my disease (C7 Quadriplegia) which leaves my hands clenched in a fist-like claw, I can no longer extend my fingers due to this, therefore video games are something I no longer play at all, and I didn't have the time to do the research required for this assignment, as I really have to decide at this point wether or not Ai is the right school for me, as I am being discriminated against so horribly by the other students, no one will work with me in groups and it makes it twice and sometimes 4 times as hard to complete my assignments! It's not something i can bring myself to execute with what is going on in my personal life and everything here, but I decided to turn something in out of respect for you Professor Frank, for teaching me brilliantly. If this is insufficient, I will re-submit another blog entry in place of this when I have more time, but someone from Ai called me over the weekend and upset me greatly because she asked me about my problems here, so I gave her a half hour of the nonsense I have to put up with here in my own words: Nothing has been addressed, so I don't know where my education and career is going at this point, which makes me very unhappy. :(

Week 4 EOC: New Phone App
Wow, I am the only person in this school without an iPhone or Smart Phone. That being said, I am really the wrong person to ask for an iPhone application development. Although, there is one thing I would definitely like to develop an App for, is an App that would SHUT DOWN the smart phones whenever the user is behind the wheel of a car!
Every day, on the ride to Ai from Centennial Hills, I see drivers in the drivers' seat just texting away, not looking at the road, and I see car accidents all the time because of it, and all over the valley! Plus, on top of this, all the students in this school walk around texting, and not looking where they are going, and this offends me, however, out on the road, people are losing their lives over this! I have fired people for texting while driving, and have not hired people for their unwillingness to put their smart phones away while working for me!
So it would be very useful to develop an Application that shuts smart phones off when vehicles are being driven: It will save lives, because even though it is a law now that you can't text while driving, everybody does it anyway! And while I don't feel sorry for the individuals who succumb to the deadly ramifications of text messaging while driving, it would make me very happy to create an App like this, because it will save lives and hopefully teach people not to text while driving, as driving requires full hand eye coordination and texting is just a deadly action that needs to be addressed on the roads!
There is nothing else I would do with a smart phone. Me being a severely disabled Quadriplegic who has to work twice as hard than anyone else here, I am so offended by all the students who text in class because I work so hard to succeed and I never do it in class myself, that creating a shut down app is really the only thing I would do for a smart phone, I'm sorry, I've had very bad experiences with them and I refuse to deal with them!

EOC Week 1: My Voice
This is a really hard thing to write about: My Voice. As hard a I work, I don't feel that my voice is heard. I've been going to Ai for a year and a half now, I've written, produced and directed my first Short Film, and I've received critical acclaim from everyone in New York, but I get jealousy from everyone here! I came to Las Vegas 7 years ago to start my career, and now, having met many other musicians and residents, I'm sorry I ever came here! I spent all this time here working with career services to get a job, no one would even interview me, and now I find that I won't get a job in Las Vegas even with a degree! My recording studio and my music career is all I have left, so My Voice is only heard by certain people, it's not something that I can broadcast to other students: they don't like me. I also say a lot of things that nobody has the balls to say, and a lot of it has to do with American Disabilities Act violations, so it's better that I keep my mouth shut.
EOC Week 1: Great Customer Service
I really don't remember the last time I received great customer service. I'm a Quadriplegic, and I don't feel that I get the same respect in this town that ambulatory people get. Furthermore, I usually go everywhere myself and therefore all the businesses all treat me this way, so I really don't get excellent customer service other than the Professors here and Dean Sally Palmer, who always goes out of her way to help me, other than that, the last time I received excellent customer service was in 2011, in Public Enemy's Terrordome Studios, where DJ Johnny Juice recorded my song "The Perception of Love"!
